Favourites | 2012

2012 has nearly come to an end so I decided to do my overall 2012 beauty, fashion and random favourites :)

BEAUTY
1. Face product
I recently discovered the 'Miracle Matte Pressed Powder' by 17 and find it very good. Its got a good amount of coverage and gives my face the perfect matte finish without being too matte. 

2. Cheek product
I have been loving lipstick as a blush recently because its so easy and then your lips and cheeks have the same tones :) so i have been loving MUA Shade 1 for this (old shade 1 because they recently updated there range - its basically a dark pinky red)

3. Eye product
I never really wear eye shadow and havent really found my perfect mascara yet, but the mascara i have been using is the Maybelline 'Great Lash' in very black and find it does the job well

4. Lip Product
As I said for my favourite cheek product, I have been loving MUA's (old) Shade 1. I can wear it full on red or use it more of a lip stain and make it more of a pink.

5. Skincare Product
I use E45 moisturising lotion and its not the best for my face but it is what i have and is great for the rest of my body. 

6. Nail Polish
I don't really wear a lot of nail polish and the one i chose isn't really a yearly favourite but i love it so much i had to include it! It is O.P.I's Skyfall and it is such a pretty autumn/winter colour! I love James Bond and Skyfall was definitely one of the best so to remember it and to celebrate 50 years I got Skyfall and the Bondettes mini set (doing whole other post about them later).

7. Hair product
My hair is a NIGHTMARE! It is curly but not nice and curly and well behaved. No. Its frizzy and fluffy and I can never wear it down because it always has an irritating kink in it but I won't straighten it because I dont like my hair straight :L so as you can tell im quite fussy but to try to tame my mane i weirdly use hair gel (L'Oreal Studio Mineral Control - Normal Strength). Now some of you might think ew but I put it on after washing my hair while its damp and then i go to sleep with wet hair, wake up and it doesn't feel like there is hair gel in it at all.

8. Body product/Perfume
Weirdly I dont own any perfumes... I have those little samples and I really like Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck - I think it smells so good! but it hasn't been out all that long so another I have loved this year has been Body Shop's Love, etc...

FASHION
9. Favourite clothing piece 
My favourite clothing piece this year was difficult to choose but I decided on my trusty Levi shorts. I got them in the summer but got hell of a lot of use out of them!

10. Accessory
I dont really wear many accessories but I wear earrings most days and my nanny (grandma) gave me her old pearl earrings and i wear those the most :)

11. Pair of shoes
The shoes I have got the most wear out of this year have been my dorothy perkins broguey biker boot things. I love these and have practically worn them to death!

Ok so that is my 2012 favourites done. It feels strange that it is nearly the end... Kind of sad :( but this year has not been the best so I am looking forward to welcoming the new year - I will be doing my GCSE's which is exciting and terrifying and then going into sixth form :D

Tumblr

Hi :) Today I thought I would share my obsession with tumblr with you. It started about a year ago because my friend got me into it, (her blog is a fandom blog about NCIS, The Vampire Diaries, Castle, The Mentalist and many, many more. If you want to go have a look then click HERE) anyway my tumblr hasn't really got a theme and I just post random pictures that I like. However quite a lot of them are of miley cyrus, pretty little liars, zac efron and just plain old weirdness! I edit most of my pictures and I find them all over the place! hey :) sorry for not posting for ages! I thought I would do the I ♥ Fall Tag (even though it is mainly YouTube based) because I like doing tags and I love Fall/Autumn :) So without further-a-do lets get started!

Favorite Fall lip product? 
Im not the biggest spender when it comes to make up, so that is why my chosen lip product is MUA lipstick - shade 1. It is a beautiful deep red colour and is perfect for Autumn.

Favorite Fall Nail Polish?

I love dark colours for Autumn, but instead of going with the berry trend I love navy blue. Collection 2000 - Midnight is great. I only use one coat and im done!

Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?

I dont really go to Starbucks that often and I HATE coffee but they do a pretty damn good hot chocolate!

Favorite Fall Candle?


I havent really got a favourite but i love the cinnamon scented ones.

Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory?

I recently bought a navy blue bobble hat from primark for £3 and i love it!

Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?


I am a massive wuss when it comes to these things and have never done any of them, however this year im braving Tulley's Farm.

I really like Halloween Town on Disney Channel (because im so cool like that!)

Duke of Edinburgh | The Real Deal

A couple of weeks ago I went on my actual Duke of Edinburgh walk (scary!) which meant walking 17km on the Saturday and 18km on Sunday. This may or may not sound like a long way but we were carrying over 13kg on our backs and we were climbing giant hills! Anyway we started off from a car park in Firle and I was the first to map read... bit of a mistake seeing as I barely know my left and right! So we walked, got a bit lost, made friends with some cows and trampled through someone's field. Overall the journey there was fine apart from a couple of parts... as we were walking along the side of a road I lost my balance (damn you giant rucksack!), toppled over and sprained my ankle! However I soldiered on through because our group had worked so hard to get to where we were and it would all be a complete waste of time if I quit then. We then got to have lunch at Arlington Reservoir which was only meant to take 20 minutes but we ended up spending an hour lolling about and getting ice cream (YUM!). We then walked to Alfriston to a camp site and it turned out we were the last there by around two hours!! In total that day we had walked just over 10 hours! We were knackered! For dinner we had soup for starters, then spaghetti and pesto, then chocolate in our tent. The night was absolutely FREEZING - the teachers said it got to 2 degrees celsius - so this meant I got maximum two hours sleep. 

The next day we were all exhausted and the thought of doing it all again was dire. We were determined to be the first to leave as we arrived last that night, so we woke up at 6:30, got breakfast ready and got changed. At around 7:30 we started taking the tents down which was horrible because there were crane flies everywhere! I HATE crane flies! Anyway once the tents were down all we had to do was pack away everything which we were surprisingly fast at. So we all managed to leave at 8:45 which was roughly the time we wanted to set off. Sadly we were not the first to leave, as the group we had a friendly rivalry with set off 15 mins before us. However as we reached the toilet block the were all standing outside trying to work out where they were going, which meant we were the first to leave! 

Our route was pretty simple because we just had to follow the river. However because we are lazy we kept having breaks and once we got to the first meeting point we were VERY late! So to prove we could walk faster, the supervisors made us walk to the beach and back in one hour, so we took off and made it back with 5 mins to spare. We then had lunch in a car park because we could not be bothered to find somewhere else and ate sooooo much food! After lunch we set of without realising the horror ahead of us... We reached the bottom of the seven sisters, looked at the map and saw we had to walk over all seven of these hills! Now if you live near these then you will understand our misery but if you don't then basically the seven sisters are seven giant hills on the edge of the sea, so they can get very windy at times! We even named some of the sisters - for example the obese sister and the baby sister. The good news was that once we finished the seven sisters we were done! It was all over!

Duke of Edinburgh | Training Weekend

My D of E experience so far....

This weekend I have been training for my D of E bronze award. And for those who do not know what D of E is it basically means we have to spend 2 days and 1 night walking and camping somewhere in Sussex. Anyway this weekend we have been preparing for it and it has not been easy. Yesterday we spent the day at school from 8:30 - 4:00 (yes school on a Saturday is not fun!) and we learned how to use a camping stove, pack a rucksack, basic first aid, navigate our way around using a map and a compass and put up a tent. It was a long day but I learned some valuable skills which will come in useful in later life. Then today we went on a two hour walk on Devils Dyke and no jokes but it was the hardest thing ever! For the expedition we have to be in groups and in my groups there are seven of us (me and my best friends sasha, eloise, milly, ange, george and harriet) and we had to take in turns navigating our way around. The first person to navigate was milly and she ended up leading us down the steepest hill EVER and I ended up falling over twice! After that is was pretty straight forward until about half an hour before the end when we came across a field which, instead of walking round it like normal people, we decided to go straight through it only to find a barbed wire fence at the end, but we found a hole so managed to climb through it rather than walking back. Then came the worst of it. We had to walk about 1km completely uphill and we all collapsed once we got to the top! But overall my first D of E weekend experience has been really fun!

The reason why my LOTD eBay are these studs is because the other day I bought a pair of vintage levi shorts from a second hand vintage shop near where I live for £18 (bargain!) and brought them home only to find they were pretty much exactly the same as my other pair (which I also bought from this shop). So I got thinking and came to the conclusion that I cant return them because it is a second hand shop so I will have to change them! I don't want to dye them because I don't think i would wear them as much so i thought that studding them would be a good alternative. So I had a look on eBay and found these for £2.49 + £1.00 p+p! I recently bought this faux leather jacket from New Look and I absolutely love it! It is so comfortable and it fits perfectly. The only criticism I have would be that the pockets are quite hard to access and that it hasn't got a proper collar but they aren't really a problem to be honest! Anyway, even though I have not owned this for that long I have worn it so much (well as much as possible - which is a bit tricky with this random British weather). Hunger Games: The Musical

I chose this as my LOTD because it is hysterical (but only to those who have read the Hunger Games) and whoever made this is a genius and is admired by many Hunger Games fans. :) It shows some of the films highlights but with modern music to give the sad story a comical side.

The lace is gorgeous, the neckline is stunning because of it's unusualness but it is kind of channeling Kate Middleton's wedding dress? I just love it and it is only £27.99?! Crazy!
