How I Style... LBD

I really like a good old little black dress, but in the winter I find it hard to wear (especially in England) because it is so cold! So, this is how I have been wearing my dress recently :)

I have really liked wearing cropped jumpers over the top of it because it keeps me warm, but still looks nice and it makes the outfit more girly if you wear doc martins or other boots.

Book Wishlist #1

Hi :) I thought I would share with you the books I have got my eye on at the moment and hopefully I will get a couple for Christmas. I love reading and once I find a book enjoy it will be finished within like two days but at the moment I havent been reading anything due to school work but I hope to get back into it as I settle into my work a bit more. Anyway, these are some of  the books that I have seen and that have been recommended to me.

So the first book on my list is The Maze Runner. I want to read this because my friend recommended it too me and also because next year the film is coming out and Dylan O'Brien is playing the main character and I love Dylan so I feel that it is my duty, as a fan, to read it and then see the film with full knowledge of what is going on. 

The second book is The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks. I have seen the film and I loved it and knew I needed to read the book! I have read The Last Song also by Nicholas Sparks and I thought it was really well written, so I thought I would try The Lucky One.

Next is Divergent. I don't really have a reason for this one other than other people have recommended it to me.

The fourth book is Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. I want to get this because I have seen the film (yes I watched it before reading the book, don't judge me!) and I thought I should now read the book as I enjoyed the film so much.

The fifth book is An Abundance of Katherines. It is by John Green and I love him as an author. I chose this book for no particular reason other than it was by him and I have already read The Fault in our Stars and Looking for Alaska.

Finally, it is Safe Haven and it is basically the same reason as why I want to read The Lucky One apart from I have not seen this film yet and I want to try to wait and read the book first.

So these are some of the books I hope to get soon and I hope it has given some suggestions to anyone who has read this. 

How I Style... Dungarees

So for a long time I have wanted to do a 'How I style...' post but I don't like posing and taking photos of myself so I wasn't sure how I could do it. However, the other day I thought I could do it as a collage on polyvore! All the pieces I have included in the photo I own and have worn/would wear with the dungarees.

I have included tops for all year round, so if you wanted to wear them in the summer there are some t-shirts, and for Autumn and Winter there are jumpers :) Also in the Autumn and Winter in the UK it is freezing so I would wear tights as well.

Life Update

Hi :) So I haven't posted in the last month and this is because I have not had much motivation to write a blog post, take and upload photos and think of topics for the posts. My last one was a wish list and I really enjoy those sort of ones but I think doing one more than every few months might be boring for those who are regular readers. 

I have also started college and have got a huge amount of work already so time has been cut short! College is really exciting and it's great to be at a new school doing only the subjects I have chosen. I am doing Art, Textiles, Psychology and Maths and so far I am loving them! Im loving Maths the least but it has a huge amount of work and extremely high expectations so I have spent my last few weekends up to 1am doing papers. Less enjoyable than the other but I enjoy the classes so thats good! Textiles is my favourite so far but I am enjoying them all. 

If you don't live in the UK then I dont know what the equivalent of college is but I think in America its the last couple of years of high school. Oh and best of all, because we are first years of the college we have a freshers party! Which is basically a party for all the first years (there are over 1000 of us!) and it has a theme (ours is Mods and Rockers from the 60s) and I am very excited for that! If I can I will try to post some photos of it on here but if not then there will be a couple on my instagram: chloestentiford.

I havent been doing my I ♥ ... posts either and this is because the website I used to edit the photos was broken for ages and then once it was fixed I was so out of the loop I just forgot, so I will be uploading some of those for the past months I have missed :) 

Ok so I think that is it for now. I will try to be better at putting up posts but if I dont then you will now know why!

Wishlist #2

Hi :) so its time for another wish list and this is more of a back to school one. I go back to school (college :o) in three weeks and its the first time I get to wear my own clothes instead of a uniform! So the stress of having to choose an outfit everyday begins, but I think that if I get as many staple pieces as possible within my budget then I should be ok - fingers crossed! So if you see anything on here you like or if you have any back to school must haves then let me know :)

So this wish list is clearly not very colourful but I love it all and I am definitely considering buying some of these things. 

1. Topshop Strappy Cami - I have seen so many people wearing these tops from Topshop and they always look so nice! Priced at £15, I think they are slightly overpriced for what they are but I guess its something you would wear a lot! 

2. Topshop Quilted Sweatshirt - I saw Zoe Sugg (zoella on youtube) wear this in a vlog she did recently and I loved it but she had it in a bright peachy coral colour which is a bit loud for me, but fell in love with it! As soon as I found out it came in grey I jumped for joy (not literally but you know what I mean). Its so simple but could be worn with so much. It is £38 but worth it because I can be worn all year round.

3. Topshop Davina Dress By Jones and Jones - Ok so I would not wear this dress to school but OMG how amazing is it?! It reminds me of something Aria from Pretty Little Liars wore to one of her school dances. I just love how the skirt sticks out and the lace on the chest/neckline area. I also love that it has little cap sleeves because I hate my shoulders (dont ask) and sleeves are always a bonus :) It is £60 but I would definitely pay that for it! 

4. New Look Lace Swing Crop Top - I really like this and I think it would look really nice with black high waisted jeans or denim shorts. It is £12.99 which is a good price and with the colour, it could be worn in summer through to late autumn.

5. Dr Martins - I have always wanted a pair of DMs but have never been able to afford them. Perrie Edwards from Little Mix wears them all the time and I love how she styles them! They are about £90 which is quite a lot but will be well worth it. I have a pair of black boots at the moment but I have worn them so much they are now falling apart and I need a new pair, so hopefully they will last until Christmas so I can ask for money towards them or for the actual boots :) 

6. Topshop Necklace - I love how these sorts of necklaces look with collared shirts, dresses and basically everything you could possibly wear. This necklace is £10 which for a necklace I guess isn't too bad.

Wishlist #1

Recently I have been looking at clothes online because im doing exams and cant leave the house :( but only two to go :D anyway I thought I would make a wish list of things I have been repeatedly going back to and loving!

1. Miss Selfridge Dream Catcher Earrings - I have been loving the boho trend and think these would look so good with so many different outfits and at only £12 in the sale!

2. Wildfox Jumper - I saw Lucy Hale wearing this and I love it! It's so fun but ridiculously expensive at £185! Well a girl can dream...

3. New Look Aztec Trousers - I have seen printed trousers around everywhere in many different patterns and colours, but a slightly safer option would be black and white patterned. You could then pair them with a coloured top to brighten the outfit or go for a monochrome look and wear a black or white t-shirt. Very reasonable price at £16.99.

4. H&M Crochet Crop Top - As I said before, I'm loving the boho trend and this would look amazing with high waisted denim shorts and the dream catcher earrings! Only £12.99.

5. New Look Black Studded Bag - I really like this bag because it is black and has gold studs! Also, shock horror, I dont have any black bags! So this is definitely being considered as my black bag for the rest of this year (as you can probably tell, Im not a bag person!)

6. Converse - A complete staple in anyones wardrobe are converse and sadly I have grown out of my old ones so time for a new pair! I want these ones the most because I do wear a lot of dark colours and they are most practical but the white toe and sole make them a bit brighter.

So thats my wish list at the moment! I enjoyed doing this so I might do a beauty wish list as well :) Let me know what you are loving and wanting for this summer and I will see you soon!

Music I've Been Loving #1

Im starting a new series here on Hiding in the Sea about music :) Music is a big part of me and I listen to so many different types of music! I thought I would share some of my favourite songs every now and then :) also just a warning there are a lot of songs I have been loving this time because my friend introduced me to loads of new artists and I have discovered so many as well!

1. First, I have had Demi Lovato's new album 'DEMI' on repeat since it came out! So many people can relate to her music. I love all the songs, but my favourites are Nightingale, Neon Lights and Warrior.

2. Second is Bastille's whole album 'Bad Blood'. I'm a huge fan of Bastille, but sadly haven't the chance to see them live yet.

3. I have been loving Passenger's song 'Let Her Go'! It is one of my favourite songs at the moment!

4. Next is Matt Nathanson with the song 'All We Are'. This song was in the program NCIS and I fell in love with it!

5. A song a bit different from the rest is 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' by Skrillex. It was basically the soundtrack to Spring Breakers and as it is finally starting to get hot where I live, it makes me feel so summery!

6. I have been watching a lot of fanvids recently for NCIS (my new love) and Pretty Little Liars (back on 11th June eeeek!) and one song that seems to be used a lot is 'High Hopes' by Kodaline. It is one of my favourite songs at the moment and probably for a long time to come! :)

7. Since Fall Out Boy have returned there have been three songs I have loved and they are 'My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark', 'The Pheonix' and 'Young Volcanos'. 

8. I have been loving Imagine Dragons recently and in particular 'It's Time'. Its so catchy and once I have heard it, I can guarantee I will be singing it around the house for hours after!

9. Selena Gomez released her new single 'Come and Get It' on 8th April and I absolutely love it!! I guess some people will not like it, but I think it is great and very different to anything she has sung before. She also released the audio of 'Slow Down' a few days ago and I am obsessed! I cant wait for her album!

10. Finally, it's been around for a while but I have been loving 'Mermaid' by Train. I'm not to sure what drew me to this song, but I really like it.

Polyvore

Hello :) so I got polyvore and I love it! For those who are sitting there asking "what is this polyvore thing?", I shall try to explain the best I can! Basically you make an account and then you can create collages of outfits, different fashions, interior decorating, celebrities, etc. For example, I have made collages of different pieces in specific colours and then put them all into a collection (which you can see HERE). It is a great place to find new and different pieces of fashion and homeware and things that look good with them.

I ♥ Miley Cyrus

This month my I ♥ ... is Miley Cyrus. Ever since I was little and saw her on Hannah Montana, she has been my idol. I have seen her develop as a singer, actress and person and The Last Song is one of my all time favourite films. I think she is flawless; she is beautiful, clever and she stands up for what she believes in. She is a true inspiration.
